The Standard, High Line is a Hyatt partner hotel with a sleek, modern feel and a location that puts you right in the middle of a lively New York neighborhood—without the usual Times Square and Broadway crowds. If you’re looking to put your Hyatt points to good use, this is one to consider.

My recent stay was pricing at over $800 per night, but I redeemed just 20,000 Hyatt points for a complimentary night. That’s the kind of redemption that makes collecting points worthwhile! You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt if you need to top off your balance.
The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed and efficient, with everything you need for a lovely stay. The bed was comfortable, although noticeably low to the floor. The European-style shower brought back memories of a flat we rented in Paris many years ago. It’s a distinctive design, but something to keep in mind if you prefer a more traditional hotel bathroom.

One of my favorite features was the river view. It was a refreshing change from the usual big-city experience of looking directly into the high-rise building next door.

A word about noise
There is a thumping nightclub on the upper floors. If you’re a light sleeper or noise is a concern, mention it to the Front Desk when you arrive and request a room on a floor that won’t be affected. On the flip side, if celebrity spotting is your thing, the club attracts high-end clientele, including TV stars and models, and hosts wrap parties for major movie productions. You might just find yourself sharing an elevator with someone famous!
I absolutely loved the location. There are plenty of local coffee shops and retail options nearby, giving the neighborhood a much more local feel than the usual tourist corridors. And, as the name suggests, the High Line is right there. Literally!

Would I pay the cash rate?
No. At over $800 a night, I just can’t justify it. But for 20,000 Hyatt points, especially if you’re looking to stay away from the Times Square and Broadway crowds, The Standard, High Line is absolutely worth a look.
