As of this moment, the welcome offer for this card is one of the best I’ve seen. For a low annual fee, $95, you can get a good stash of flexible points to get the ball rolling on the CapOne playing field. Let’s take a closer look at this card.
First, the new bonus is 75,000 points. That’s huge! But there’s more…you’ll also get $250 to use on CapitalOne Travel (their portal) in the first year! That should help with a car rental or even a niche hotel booking (remember that portal bookings usually mean you forgo any status benefits or elite night credits, so use wisely).
If you lump it together, that’s about $1,000 or more in travel for spending $4,000 in the first 3 months. Not too shabby!
The Venture card is a nice option to carry with you at all times. The reason? It earns 2x on ALL purchases. Period. Food, box stores, gas, utilities. Whatever it is, you get 2x the points. It also earns 5x when booking hotels and car rentals through their portal (see above for portal caveats). There are no foreign transactions fees and you’ll get $100 towards the Global Entry/TSA fees. Add in Hertz Five Star upgrade and rental car insurance and this card is solid in the travel world!
