A few years ago, the World of Hyatt program had a promotion offering double Elite Night Credits per stay. We had a bunch of stays already booked, so we registered for the deal and were able to move up in status, to their highest tier, Globalist.
Once achieved, the status runs in the year you earn it, the entire next year, and ends in February of the following year. So if you earn your status in April of 2025, you will keep it until February of 2027.
We also earned a Suite Upgrade Certificate, which we needed to use before it expired. We selected the Park Hyatt Aviara in California and booked it. However due to an unexpected run of very wet weather in the San Diego area, we needed to pivot. After looking at a lot of other Hyatt properties, we settle on the PH NYC. We opted for this location based on a few factors: we could drive, they had plenty of rooms available, and we had heard the rooms were impressive.

We used 35,000 Hyatt points per night, for 2 nights. After applying the certificate we were confirmed in a 1 BR suite. The location of the hotel is fantastic! We walked to Central Park, 5th Ave for shopping and the hotel offers a private car for up to 10 blocks. We used it to get us to Broadway for a show.
The room was comfortable, spacious and had a TOTO toilet (a first for us). It may sound silly, but the $10,000 toilet was impressive.

The staff at the hotel was helpful, if not a bit pretentious. Overall the feel of the property is upscale luxury.

As a Globalist, we were able to enjoy complementary breakfast each day. They allowed us to either dine in the restaurant or use room service. For us, we made use of the latter. Both mornings we ordered whatever we wanted, from eggs and bacon to pancakes, large pots of coffee, and muffins. Each day, the entire bill was wiped out! One of the many benefits of having top tier status.

Another benefit-complimentary parking-which meant that our Valet charges were also removed.
Overall this is an excellent choice when traveling to the City. If you have the points to burn, it offers a luxury stay in a great part of New York. And if you have Globalist status, you need to add this to your must stay list!
Total points used: 70,000
Cash cost of our suite for 2 nights $3,480 (no, that’s not a typo)
Our out of pocket cost for 2 nights: ZERO!
