IHG Offer and Information

IHG hotels cover a wide variety of styles and price points. They offer upscale options like InterContinental Hotels and Six Senses, boutique choices with Kimpton, and a large footprint of locations with Holiday Inns. For this reason, the Chase IHG Premier card may be a good selection for those that are looking for options, options, options! Note-the Premier card has a $99 annual fee. Chase does offer a “Traveler” IHG card, but that is not our recommendation)

The card offers an excellent earning potential on spend (IHG, travel, gas, dining) plus it will give you Platinum status in the IHG program. You will also get a free Anniversary night valued at 40,000 points, a great reason to keep the card year after year.

Keep in mind, finding points availability at the higher end properties can be a challenge. For example, Kimpton Hotels (which LOVES pets), are often located in city centers with great walking options to explore, are especially tricky to find. IHG does allow you to add points to your free nights so that helps. Just keep in mind that, as with all points and miles cards, YMMV.

Take a look at all that the card offers-everything from $100 Global Entry/TSA rebate every four years to redeem 3 nights get the 4th free. While I would advise getting other Chase cards first, so you don’t use up your 5/24 spots, if you don’t have other cards on your radar, this one is worth a look!
